There was vibrancy, a cheerful optimism about items from this period that I find irresistible. There was also a difference in the way we lived our lives. I prefer a leisurely conversation with a good friend over a cup of tea instead of a hurried text message. I'd rather have a cozy cottage with a front porch than a 10,000 square foot mansion.
