I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the second daughter of European immigrants who built a successful restaurant business in this country from scratch. I suppose you could say the entrepreneurial spirit is in my blood.
I always excelled in art, so after high school, I headed off to the School of Fine Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. I majored in graphic design and with my B.F.A in hand, I boldly moved to New York City after graduation.
My husband John and I married in 1988 and we have been blessed with two wonderful children. Once our kids were born, I began a home-based graphic design business in the quaint seaside village of Rowayton, Connecticut. I mixed family life and work, keeping a good balance between the two. However, after over twenty years as a designer, I wanted a change.
Already a bit of an antiques collector and dealer, I dreamed of having a shop of my own. My love of all things old, along with a desire to provide people with a respite from the pressures of the day, brought about the creation of T-Party Antiques and Tea Room in 2003. Partnered with two talented good friends who prepared delicious teatime treats, we had a successful five-year run.
I was the proud co-owner of this sweet little shop up until June 2008 when the 1890 farmhouse we rented was slated for demolition. Though our brick-and-mortar store is no longer, I hope to bring you a similar experience when visiting this site; that nostalgic tingle when looking at a vintage item that reminds you of time spent at your grandmother's house; or discovering the peace and serenity that brewing a hot cup of tea shared with a dear friend can offer.
With warmest regards,
